RF Biocidics was started in 2008 to commercialize IP developed by University of California, Davis for the application of radio frequency in agriculture to pasteurize tree nuts.
2015 Radio Frequency was adopted as a remediation technology at Los Sueños Farms.
RF frequency pasteurizer won the Sacramento Region Innovation Awards in Food & Agribusiness category.
Ziel completed a management buyout of RF Biocidics from Allied Minds in August 2017.
Ziel, creators of proprietary process solutions for the agricultural and cannabis industries, has been awarded the first ever patent (U.S. Patent No 10,517,308) by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for processes that include the treatment of cannabis using radio frequency technology for microbial reduction.

Arthur de Cordova is responsible for all Sales & Marketing activities and manages administrative functions including Financial and Legal Affairs.
Parastoo Yaghmaee, Ph.D.
VP, Research and Development
Dr. Yaghmaee leads R&D activities in the application of radio frequency and microwave technologies for the disinfection and disinfestation in Ziel’s food and cannabis segments. Dr. Yaghmaee is a member of ASTM’s Committee D37, charged with developing cannabis standards and guidelines.
Vincent Chun, Ph.D.
Chief of Technology
Dr. Chun advises on process development and improvement with radio frequency and microwave-based pathogen reduction systems, and in the capacity as the company’s Data Scientist.
Ketch DeGabrielle
Product Development
Ketch DeGabrielle focuses on product development working with Ziel’s internal teams and vendors. With his hands-on operating experience, Ketch works on optimizing customer work process flow and integrating APEX into their SOPs.
Nate Smalley
Director of Operations
Nate Smalley is responsible for Operations, which include Logistics, Warehouse Operations, and managing Ziel’s customer Field Service & Maintenance.
Camille DeGabrielle
Sales & Marketing
Camille leads Ziel’s Sales generation and is often the first point of contact for new customers, and is responsible for developing and designing Ziel’s Digital Marketing, building brand identity, and managing Ziel’s web outreach.
